I've always wished that we could change that term "lose weight" into a term that didn't have the word "lose" in it. Deep down, I think we all struggle with the idea of losing what is familiar and comfortable.Beckynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-42917035097949003962011-03-27T11:41:46.892-05:002011-03-27T11:41:46.892-05:00Im so proud of you Cousin...I love youIm so proud of you Cousin...I love youCandi Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10162382066663833473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-3784992070549761232011-03-26T19:20:02.010-05:002011-03-26T19:20:02.010-05:00My stand-up always centered around my size and now...My stand-up always centered around my size and now, well---I couldn't take that easy way out.

It was also a good way to keep the competition out of your territory. Unless another comic up there on stage was near your old weight -- very unlikely -- you had those jokes to yourself, and no one could steal them.

Don't we usually identify the problem and then try to figure out the solution? But how can we fully see the problem when we're right in the middle? You've heard the expression "from the outside looking in...," I had to get outside of my problems---work the solution, then reflect back in order to see a very clear picture of where I was and why I was.

This is really profound. It's the leap of trust -- just doing what makes sense, even if you can't see it, trusting it will work, and then understanding it later. And not looking for excuses or shortcuts.Janisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-78466981935605826042011-03-26T13:21:14.143-05:002011-03-26T13:21:14.143-05:00Hey Sean,

People in recovery will tell you that in the beginning, they only have to do one thing: admit the problem. Those who simply admit don't know WHY they have the problem, only that they have it. From there it's a journey of hard work, discovery, grace and healing...a wonderful ride.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-44368542166796388532011-03-26T01:28:33.441-05:002011-03-26T01:28:33.441-05:00Hey sean, I love what you told the lady above. You...Hey sean, I love what you told the lady above. You do it without belittling, which I appreciate and I expect now. I think that blurb when you were doing your standup was you in a kind of mind meld time warp experience where you were trying to tell people who YOU ARE NOW. And that has a lot to do with who you used to be. It happens to me daily. People see this me, and get an idea that I am the skinny chick. Or that I don't understand. when I do.
It's like you have all the benefits of being thin with the ADDITIONAL benefit of compassion because you've been there. LiKe I told my blog readers...when your book comes out I will hawk it on my site no fee, no pay, because I believe in what you are doing. I think you are going to go really far and you deserve to. I hope you help a lot of people. Keep up the good work bud.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13708815560712267698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-6018831628094300452011-03-26T00:17:37.715-05:002011-03-26T00:17:37.715-05:00Sean,

BRB:)lol.

As far as stand up comedy goes Sean. It does not matter the weight you were before or after. You always had the same heart and same sense of humor and still do. Always will! Same motivation? Probabaly not. But sense of humor and heart? Those never change. The outward shell can change, but who you are never will. God made you who you are. You just needed to make some adjustments along the way, like all of us. And you did! I love you Sean! Soooo much. The old and the new Sean. Hugging the old and new Sean would not be any different to me. Not at all! Same person, different shell. But always the same soul, no matter what!

LisaLisa Lovenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-74039639806608168762011-03-25T23:30:06.931-05:002011-03-25T23:30:06.931-05:00Sean I am thrilled for you with your progress and ...Sean I am thrilled for you with your progress and putting that to such good for others.
