As we talked more, we came to the realization that so much of what is good in life, and so much of ultimate satisfaction and success, comes down to the day by day actions, whether it be bringing your loved one a cup of coffee or a hug, doing the dishes, taking a walk, preparing a healthy meal, watering the plants, or making iced tea at home rather than spending the $3 at Starbucks.

Good little actions add up, and bad little actions (or inactions) add up.

And sometimes, as you are showing us with that 50-pound loss, they add up quickly!

Sorry for the long comment, but if I could, I'd like to request a blog topic. I ask this as someone whose income is about to be reduced. Do you have any thoughts about saving money on one's food budget? I notice that when you post a picture while grocery shopping, you typically have only a few items in your cart-- probably few enough that you can go through the express lane at checkout. And yet, your meals are always so delicious-lookiing, and varied. Do you tend to buy the same types of things, and if so, is it working well for you, tastewise and wallet-wise?Beckynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3126474537687051974.post-77267684191101359822014-07-05T22:26:22.274-05:002014-07-05T22:26:22.274-05:00Your blog looks FANTASTIC, but I would continue to...Your blog looks FANTASTIC, but I would continue to read if it had stayed as it was. "What...This statement really hit home for me:

"What I'm doing isn't a means to an end, it's a means to a better life, forever."

I wrote something like that in my first post or two of my blog. I meant it then, but that thought continues to slip away, being replaced by eating to lose weight. Period.

I'm going to add your sentence to my brain tape and pull it out on purpose several times a day.

Love the pants story. :) Congrats.

DebAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
