April 30th, 2015 Superior

April 30th, 2015 Superior

I must brag on my daughter Amber for a moment. She just received her first year teaching evaluation. Out of a possible rating of 5, she received a 4.7 rating of Superior! Her principal told her it was the highest she had ever rated/scored a first year teacher.

#tbt Throwback Thursday--all the way back to...Uh, January... There aren't any rules about how far back a "throwback" should be, right? This counts!

Proud father here. Amber is an incredibly exceptional special education teacher.

Letting the Tweets bring it the rest of the way home tonight. Hitting the pillow. It's back to work tomorrow--just in time for Friday!

    1. Awe, Thank you, Deb! It's incredibly special to witness how she's gone from completely unsure to confident and strong. I'm so happy for her! She's wise and talented beyond what I could have passed along! She must have got quite a bit from her mom! :)

    1. Bear, thank you! That's so cool that we have that in common. It's definitely one of those professions requiring a certain degree of passion in order to excel. Amber has it. I would blind-wager your daughter does, too.

    1. Thank you, TR! It feels great seeing her do so well. I knew she could do it in an exceptional way--I knew it--I told her that...she just needed to hang on until she became convinced--and she did, and she works hard-- and it's wonderful to witness.

  4. Congrats to your daughter on her accomplishment! That is outstanding. I am a mom of a daughter who has Autism. She is on the high spectrum. I have had many battles with schools and doctors through out her life. Needless to say she has had many teachers with her throughout. One in particular was exceptional , most likely like your daughter. She taught and cared for my daughter like no other person besides me in her life. That teacher wrapped her arms around her and showed her the warmth and love a teacher can give with out judgments. My daughter is grown now but she still speaks of this lovely women. Be proud, shout it out because your daughter is giving parents every day the comfort they need when raising their child with special needs! :)
    Oh and great food day!

    1. I'm so glad your daughter had that exceptional teacher. One amazing teacher can make an impact going far beyond the time spent with them.
Amber has had moments with parents where they emotionally thank her for making a difference. It's powerful.
Thank you very much for sharing this, Rosie.
And it was a great food day--except for that burrito...it was a kitchen fail! :) It happens!
