January 18th, 2017 Nice Try

January 18th, 2017 Nice Try

I really wasn't feeling too bad this morning. I decided to go to work and get back into the groove. Usually, even if I'm not feeling well, I can sound like I'm just fine on the air--but clearly, I couldn't pull it off this morning. It was a nice try.

A 9:30am appointment opened at my doctor--and I made it there. They swabbed me and I tested positive for flu. I was surprised. I was convinced this was something of the "flu-like" variety.

I'm following doctor's orders and staying home, taking TamiFlu, Nyquil caplets, and ibuprofen, getting plenty of rest and basically, letting this thing do what it does over the next four or five days. I can't visit mom until this is gone. I can't go back to work until Monday. With or without fever, I'm contagious, so they tell me.

I have what I need.

I maintained the integrity of my maintenance calorie budget, I remained refined sugar-free, I met my daily water goal and I stayed connected with support.

Maybe this stuff will go easy on me since I'm hitting back with the medication? I hope so. I'm not good at being sick. Just ask anyone who knows me extremely well.

I will take good care--in fact, extraordinary care!

Thank you for reading and your continued support,
Strength,
Sean

  2. I'm not a good sick person either mainly because I don't like things out of the "norm". I sure hope you get to feeling better soon!

  3. I hope you're feeling better soon Sean. Did you have the flu shot? I hope not, cause i did, and I sure hope it keeps me from getting sick, I know it doesn't always work. I don't know if it's my age or what, in my 40's and even 50's, it seemed like I would get one cold after another, and quite often, the more serious bronchitis and flu. Since I've hit 60 and lost weight, I get sick a lot less often. Knock on wood!!
