March 9th, 2017 Sleep, Po Po

March 9th, 2017 Sleep, Po Po

I took extraordinary care today. Not that this is something new, really--I just, I guess--I was extra mindful. I made support connections a higher priority today. I made getting my workout a non-negotiable. And I prepared some really good on-plan meals. Is it perfect? Nope. Never will be. It's too late, once again...but I'm making progress and I'm discovering ways to better manage each day.

I have Noah tonight. I have the exceptional assistance of a friend of mine--so it's not like I'm doing it alone. Noah just ordered me to "sleep, po po, sleep!" He's three and a half years old, and he knows what's good for me. I told him, "awe, po po will, just as soon as I finish my blog." He was quick with, "No blog, sleep po po!"

So, okay then...wow, that just happened. He's the greatest, ever. I cannot transfer to the screen the right words to describe how much I love that little guy. Those words have yet to be invented.

We did visit mom tonight. She turned it to Cartoon Network--and that was it, Noah was zeroed in on the screen. We were able to pry him away in time to give grandma hugs and kisses and say goodnight.

Today: I maintained the integrity of my maintenance calorie budget, I remained refined sugar-free, I stayed well connected with exceptional support, I exceeded my daily water goal, and I enjoyed a solid workout at the YMCA.

One very valuable thing I've learned throughout this entire 8+ year experience: My continued peace, calm, and stability--and the healthy weight, is all dependent on my willingness to do the things I make important each day. It also depends on my willingness to be open minded enough to take direction--acknowledge where things could be better, and make changes as needed, deleting or adding to that important list I keep. The list can change, rearrange, and evolve as it will. And it will, as long as I make it important, each day--one day at a time.

Okay, Po Po sleep, now.

  1. When you started your morning deal, I started doing sit-ups before I get out of bed. Every day. My husband used to work with a former military guy who did 100 push-ups upon waking every day. The first thing in the morning concept has a lot of advantages.
