  1. Looks like a great clean eating day. I did take a peek at Heather's recipes on her site. Looks like some really good ones I'll have to try. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    1. I had NEVER heard of gruyere cheese in my life...But it was good, excellent really. I recommend!

  3. I had a little popcorn at the theater last night watching Interstellar (OMG movie)...but I'd 'saved' calories all day and am still down for the day. I wish I could eat the fruit and tortillas you do in a day, but I'd be 20-30 lbs. heavier. Lucky you! :)

    1. Mmmm...movie popcorn is soooo good. Great job in "banking" those calories, for your movie! I've made the fruit and tortillas work for me, I hope they continue working well, within the limits I've set. If ever it doesn't--I will need to switch things up some and adjust my approach.
      Thank you, Gwen.

  4. Looks like a good food day. I do the same thing at restaurants, pick and choose what I can eat, and almost always avoid the bread. I had fajitas at my favorite Mexican place, didn't use the sour cream or the tortillas, and ate ZERO chips with salsa before dinner arrived. VICTORY! I bought a couple of sweet potatoes to make my own fries, you have been making me so hungry for them.

    1. Excellent job at the Mexican place!! It feels so incredible to walk into a place like that with a plan and leave the place knowing that we did well--and stayed within the boundaries we set going in. My "rules for engagement" in a place like that changes depending on my calorie budget-most of the time I count out some chips--but I have had times when I do not touch a single chip. It's a major victory!! I've had times in my life--and I'm sure you can relate--where going to a place like that meant accepting "defeat" before I ever walked inside... It was like a foregone conclusion that I was about to "cut loose." Identifying this as nonsense and handling it with a different perspective has been one of the best things for me.
Oh, good!! Glad you bought the sweet potatoes-- I LOVE cutting them up fresh and baking them--the calories are so much better than the frozen kind--and in a restaurant of course--you know they're fried...
Something I realized about baking the frozen-processed kind, even the ones that seem to be "all natural," --they're still pre-fried before they go in the bag...Not completely horrible--it just explains the higher calorie content over the fresh cut and baked.
-- And as long as I bake them well--they come out with all the flavor and fun I want--along with my peace of mind in knowing that they're excellent---and delicious! ;)
