Yesterday: I maintained the integrity of my maintenance calorie budget, I remained refined sugar-free, I met my daily water goal, and I stayed well connected with exceptional support.
Yesterday was a challenge, schedule-wise, but it worked well. A weekday mid-day location broadcast is rare for me. A two-station dual broadcast is even rarer. One thing I've noticed is how when the challenge is big, my attitude and perspective plays a major role in determining how it goes. Do I accept and embrace? Yes. Of course, you know me--I'm taking the experience and finding the parallels between it and everything else along this road many of us are traveling.
Acceptance of and embracing a challenge changes everything. The challenge might take me out of my comfort zone. The challenge might require me to stretch and try new things. The challenge might take me into uncharted waters--and in that direction, a "place" where there's less certainty--but if I accept and embrace, remind myself what I can do, learn from others that have gone before me--and change the attitude and perspective of my approach, suddenly---I'm ready to experience growth. The experience; the chance for growth is stunted if I'm constantly kicking and screaming.
This is where I am. Of course, this isn't about a broadcast schedule for me, it's about many bigger things. What challenges before me would be immediately transformed if I changed my attitude and perspective to one of acceptance and embrace?
I kicked butt yesterday. The broadcast was a success in many ways. And I know it would have been very different had I brought a different attitude and perspective into the day. Also, a different perspective and attitude allows me to find gratitude for things I might have missed otherwise.
It's just an example for me--something to think about as I evolve along this road.
