March 18th, 2020 Like These

March 18th, 2020 Like These

Since our last edition: I've maintained the integrity of my food plan boundaries, I've remained refined sugar-free, I've met or exceeded my daily water goal, and I've stayed well connected with exceptional support.

Things are changing rapidly for all of us. It seems like every single day is marked with increased effects of this pandemic and the responses to it on all levels. It is unprecedented, to say the least.

Keeping this update relatively short.

During all this uncertainty, what can we control? Where do we find measures of certainty we can embrace? The serenity prayer is powerful, always true, and important for me--anyone--to embrace in times like these.

I'm pledging to take care of this daily practice of things that help keep me well. I can give myself a measure of certainty when I'm connecting with this practice. All the rest will work out the way it works out. Not honoring this daily list of things will not help anything.

Mom isn't doing well. It's not just the isolation--it seems she's developing another UTI or something, at least that's what the symptoms suggest. Extreme confusion has taken hold again and it's making this circumstance even more challenging. Suddenly, she doesn't understand why I can't come to see her or bring her things. Some positives: The staff at mom's nursing home are amazing. They're doing the best they can and they're on top of these familiar symptoms. Also, the administrator is personally connecting mom and me via video messenger at some point today. I'm sure that will be a good thing. I hope so.

My morning foundational routine is complete and my food is planned. My plan for connecting with others via phone and text is in place, as well.

Let's stay connected and support one another through this experience.

Do you own an "I'm Choosing Change" wristband? I wear mine daily as a constant reminder of why my daily practice of things is important. For me, it's simply a daily reminder to be open, willing, mindful, to pause, and to be intentional. If I'm not those things, I get stuck at the line of least resistance and back there is where the old patterns and behaviors thrive. Your order includes priority shipping so you'll get it quickly! Here's the link to order yours right now: https://imchoosingchange.com/product/wristband/
