Today started in a bad way, waking not feeling well at all. I was nauseous, dizzy and generally out of it. I decided to get up anyway and see if I could feel better--and as it turned out, I did feel better as the day progressed. Good enough, in fact, to get my workout in early at the Y. It's a completely different crowd in different day parts, very busy 6pm hour at the YMCA!
#TBT I truly wish my grandfather would have lived to see me do so well. He was always supportive, loving and hardworking. Roy T. Anderson was a wonderful example of how to live and enjoy life. He worked two and three jobs to make ends meet, but he always made time for a good western movie, an apple a day, usually in the evenings (familiar?) and baseball. He loved baseball, so much, it didn't matter who was playing. And John Wayne--he was a HUGE fan of the Duke!
#TBT Doing a 10K during my initial weight loss. Jogging alongside me is friend and theatrical director Chris Williams. He wouldn't let me quit that day! Glad he was with me. My bib number was 278--the same as my weight on that particular day.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of my "Epiphany Day." The effects of that day are still strong and always on my mind. I can't wait to write about this important 1st anniversary in tomorrow evening's edition!

Thank you for reading and your continued support,
Strength,
Sean
Are you serious? Has it really been a whole year since your epiphany day? That can't be right, it was only a couple of months ago...
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it's been a year, huh? Yep..It has!! Time flies, my friend.
DeleteI see you were at Aldis, and what was the epiphany????
ReplyDeleteRobin, I LOVE Aldi.
Delete"Epiphany Day" was the day I realized that my self-worth/identity wasn't determined by the size of my face, or the size of my jeans--or the number on the scale. It goes deeper-- The broader version is, our self-worth/identity shouldn't be tethered to anything that naturally fluctuates...
I believe that understanding this perspective is the secret to happiness. I've pasted the links to the May 15th post and the May 19th post... Simply copy and paste them into your browser--or access each from the drop down archives along the left hand side of the page.
I think you'll enjoy the read!! I hope so!

Another uplifting post! Thanks, Sean.
ReplyDeleteAmy, you're welcome. Thank you for reading!
DeleteI love how you love your grandpa....someday it will be Noah who says my grandpa ate an apple every day!!!! I wear my grandma's signature perfume on special occasions, holidays we spent together, or on any random day when I want to evoke her class, elegance and strength!! It's cool we do that. .. a living monument to who they are. I believe your grandpa knows full well hope amazing you are doing. I really do. Well, I've rambled long enough.... must now go spritz my Grammy's perfume! :)
DeleteNicole, thank you for sharing that story about your grandma's perfume. Beautiful!
DeleteI believe grandpa knows, too.
I bet Noah grows to love apples!
Thank you very much, Nicole. My grandpa was an incredible man. He was working in the fields as a kid and giving the money to his mom and dad to help make ends meet during the depression, then bravely fought in WW2 in the Pacific-- then, settled into a lifetime of working hard to support his family and sometimes that meant two full time jobs and a part time thing, too!! I don't know how he did it. All I know is--when he got the chance to relax in his chair with a John Wayne movie or a baseball game and an apple, he was in total bliss with everything.
