February 10th, 2020 Downswing

February 10th, 2020 Downswing

Since our last edition, I've maintained the integrity of my food plan boundaries, I've remained refined sugar-free, I've met or exceeded my daily water goal, and I've stayed well connected with exceptional support.

The plan to get mom out yesterday evening wasn't a good one. I brought our dinner and we watched part of the Oscars together, instead. The up and down swings of her condition, unfortunately, was on a downswing. Twenty-four hours can be a night and day difference depending on how well she slept on her CPAP the night before. Obviously, the co2 was high because she wasn't well. It was rough. It was more difficult because she crossed into the fearful stuff again where she's legitimately concerned for her life. Hugging her while she cries in this fearful confusion is one of the most heartbreaking things. I quickly reached a mental and emotional capacity--and I had to go. I did have a good long discussion with the nurse on my way out. I just spoke to the nurse again this morning and mom has stayed on her CPAP throughout the night. To be smiling, in good spirits, and of present mind--then finding her the next day in that condition, is somewhat shocking.

I got on the phone with a good support friend as soon as I hit the parking lot. I sent a few reach out texts, too. My only focus was getting home, brushing my teeth, and going to bed. This rollercoaster has at times pushed me to my limits. Last night was one of those times.

I rested okay. My morning foundational routine is complete, my food is planned and packed for today, and I'm ready for Monday. I appreciate your continued prayers and positive energy for my mom. Thank you.

Do you own an "I'm Choosing Change" wristband? I wear mine daily as a constant reminder of why my daily practice of things is important. For me, it's simply a daily reminder to be open, willing, mindful, to pause, and to be intentional. If I'm not those things, I get stuck at the line of least resistance and back there is where the old patterns and behaviors thrive. Your order includes priority shipping so you'll get it quickly! Here's the link to order yours right now: https://imchoosingchange.com/product/wristband/
