Sunday was a 5-star day: I maintained the integrity of my calorie budget, I remained refined sugar-free, I met my daily water goal, I enjoyed a good walk, and I stayed well connected with exceptional support.
I spent the day and part of the evening with mom in her hospital room. What a difference a day makes! Night and day difference from yesterday. She was very alert, talking, coherent--and the blood sugar, although a little higher, was stable. She wasn't any of those things yesterday.
The hospital brought in the physical therapist today and mom walked the halls for a little while. After being in that room when she hit 22 yesterday morning and then seeing her today--it's two extremes. The doctor came in this afternoon for a visit. He informed me the UTI was gone, her fluid retention continues to drop, and they're preparing a care plan for her release--something the nursing home can continue. The doctor projects her being released as early as Wednesday.
It felt good to cook my own dinner tonight instead of dining out. Although my grill stopped working for whatever reason. I have a new bottle of propane. Not sure what happened--but it might be time for another grill. I adjusted my plan and cooked indoors. It worked out well.
I'm immensely grateful for all of the prayers, kind messages, emails, and well wishes. I read each one to mom and she wants me to thank you. It has really helped lift her up through this experience. Thank you!!
It's a late night for me. I'm ready to get some rest!
Thank you for reading and your continued support,
Practice, peace, and calm,
