Yesterday was a 4-star day: I maintained the integrity of my calorie budget, I remained refined sugar-free, I exceeded my daily water goal by double, and I stayed well connected with exceptional support.
I texted my main support contact yesterday with an interesting dynamic. I didn't want to eat. Normally, under stress and anxiety, my natural inclination is toward the food, and it wasn't yesterday. First of all, the standup gig last night worked out well. Like any comic, I'm super-self critical--only remembering the bits that didn't land. But it was a workshop set not a polished tried and true set. Anyway--back to the not eating thing... The best I can figure is, yes, I was stressed and super-anxious, however--I also had a focused mission to prepare. The certainty I was searching for was coming from what I could do as far as prepping for the show, not an illusion of certainty or temporary diversion, from food. I learned something!
I'm in front of a crowd again tonight at the Oklahoma Big Brothers/Big Sisters Banquet in my hometown. This time, it's not standup, it's simply sharing my story and childhood experience with their amazing mentoring program. I'm super-honored that they've asked me to speak at their event! My big brother, Clarke, would be proud!
I'll be headed to the RecPlex for a good workout this afternoon. It'll be my third of the week. One shy of my four sessions weekly goal. I'll look at that, make some adjustments, and make it happen more consistently. I feel better when I do, believe me!
I also have some work to do this afternoon for the radio station, but that shouldn't take too long.
My morning foundation routine was filled with gratitude this morning. I have a good food plan for today, a great support plan, and a centered feeling of peace and calm. I'm set and ready for a good Saturday.
A few pics from last night:

even when I put her in some bits!

showed up! She's often very busy--
and I wasn't expecting it! It was a treat.
I love you, Amber!!
